5 Clever uses of Bees Wax Wraps

Have you hear of Beeswax wraps? It is simply a brilliant reusable plastic-free alternative to cling film!

What? Beeswax wrap is a food wrap material consisting of a coated fabric, most commonly cotton infused with food grade beeswax, rosin, coconut oil, and jojoba oil.

How? The wrap grips on to surfaces and with the heat of your hands you can easily seal it to create all sorts of forms and shapes. Cover your food and wrap sandwiches in style, use them as a helping hand when baking, fold and mould them into clever pouches, and so much more!

1. Keep Food Fresh

Wrapping your greens, fruit or loaf in beeswax will actually keep it fresh for longer. A brilliant way to reduce food waste and enjoy fresh food for longer.

2. Cover Jars & Bottles

Use beeswax wraps to create an airtight seal around your glass bottles and jars and keep the contents fresh. You can also use it to cover bowls and plates to keep your left overs as fresh as possible without of course using any cling film!.

How? Simply wrap it round and use the heat of your finger tips to seal it. It works like magic!

3. Roll & Store Dough

Use the extra large wraps as a base when rolling out your pastry and baking dough. Not only will it prevent the dough sticking to your kitchen counter, but it makes it even easier for popping your pastry over a pie without it splitting!

And, if you’ve got any leftover dough you can easily cover it with the wrap to keep it fresh and saved for later.

4. Make a Pouch

Fold your beeswax in a way to create a sealable pouch that is completly plastic free! This is how you do it:

5. Make a Piping Bag

Instead of using single-use plastic piping bags, simply roll up one large beeswax wraps, pop the nozzle in the end and work your magic! The best bit is that you can wash and use your wrap again for something entirely different!
